Description:
THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. ALTHOUGH THERE SEEMS TO BE CONFUSION AND DISAGREEMENT AMONG AUTO ENTHUSIASTS AS TO THE DIFFERENCE, THE FACT IS THAT PRO TOURING AND RESTO MOD ARE TWO DIFFERENT BUILDS WITH TWO DIFFERENT PURPOSES. THEY MAY LOOK AND SOUND SIMILAR, BUT THEY EACH HAVE A SEPERATE NICHE IN THE PERFORMANCE WORLD. THE BUILDER OF THIS HOT ROD HAD A VISION. HIS VISION WAS TO COMBINE THE NEW SCHOOL PERFORMANCE OF A RESTO MOD WITH THE HANDLING AND ROADABILITY OF A PRO TOURER. THIS MUSTANG IS A NICE BLEND OF BOTH WORLDS, AND IT STILL LOOKS LIKE A 1965 MUSTANG! IT TOOK FOUR YEARS TO BUILD THIS PERFORMANCE MACHINE. VIRTUALLY EVERY COMPONENT ON THIS VEHICLE IS RESTORED, REPLACED, OR REBUILT.

Every car enthusiast is familiar with the story of the Ford Mustang. The Mustang single handedly created a new classification in automobile lore- Pony Car. A sports car design with long hoods, short rear decks, and a V8 engine. This was in response to the invasion of the European sports cars, most notably the British models. The target market was the Baby Boomer generation, which were just entering the car market. The Mustang has stood the test of time as the most popular and iconic vehicles in the history of automobilia.

Of course, the Mustang launch was an overwhelming success. The first day of sales, 22,000 units were sold. 400,000 were sold in the first twelve months, and over a million were sold in the first two years. Now approaching the 50th anniversary year, production has approached or exceeded ten million units. The Mustang is the third oldest nameplate in Ford history, surpassed only by the F Series truck and the Falcon (Which is still produced in Australia).

From first year of manufacture, the hot rodders and gear heads started tinkering, modifying, and upgrading these Mustangs in an effort to increase performance. To this day, the five generations of Ford Mustangs are abundant on the street, at the strip, and at road courses nationwide. In fact, the fifth generation drew inspiration from the original, first generation 1964-1970 Mustangs. The design has been dubbed Retro-Futurism. The original Mustang was back, in an upgraded and improved form, and sales skyrocketed. The rest is history.

In the early days, the modifications and performance upgrades were not complex, as technology was still very basic. As time evolved, new developments in the automotive aftermarket industry created two new classifications- Resto Mod and Pro Touring. What is the difference? Ask fifty auto buffs the definitions, and you will get fifty different answers. Some people believe the answer is as black and white as Pro Touring refers to GM based vehicles, and Resto Mod to Ford. That is incorrect.

A simple explanation would be as follows: A Resto Mod is a classic that has been restored using modern components to upgrade drivability, comfort, and safety. A Pro Touring has more of a European orientation. Emphasis is on higher speed performance, handling, and braking.

As stated, this Mustang combines aspects of both classifications.
