Click Photo (More Info.)

CALL RANDY AT 847 526 5950 FOR UPDATES ON THE RESTORATION OF THIS PIECE ON NHRA RACING HISTORY!

A PIECE OF NHRA RACING HISTORY! THIS IS THE FORD F350 THAT TRANSPORTED THE MICKEY THOMPSON OWNED/DANNY ONGAIS PILOTED 1969 BOSS 429 MUSTANG FUNNY CAR DURING THEIR "DREAM SEASON", IN WHICH THEY VIRTUALLY DOMINATED THE CLASS. AFTER A RELENTLESS SEARCH, WE DISCOVERED THIS TRUCK IN A BARN IN FLORIDA AND NEGOTIATED A DEAL. TONY'S DAUGHTER ALEXA AND HER BOYFRIEND DROVE THE TRUCK BACK FROM FLORIDA TO OUR SHOWROOM! FOR A FUNNY AND FASCINATING STORY OF THE TRIP, PLEASE VIEW ALEXA ON THE VIDEO! WE ARE SENDING THE TRUCK TO THE RESTORATION SHOP FOR A COMPLETE MAKEOVER! WE ARE GOING TO RESTORE THIS TRUCK AS IT WAS IN IT'S GLORY DAYS.

MICKEY THOMPSON NEEDS NO INTRODUCTION. HIS NAME IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE MOST RECOGNIZABLE IN MOTORSPORTS HISTORY. MICKEY SET HUNDREDS OF RECORDS IN VIRTUALLY EVERY FACET OF RACING, FROM THE SALT FLATS TO THE QUARTER MILE.

ONE OF HIS MOST SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIPS WAS WITH "THE FLYIN HAWAIIAN" DANNY ONGAIS. DANNY IS ONE OF THE MOST VERSATILE AND NATURALLY TALENTED RACE CAR DRIVER'S IN HISTORY. AFTER GAINING SUPERSTARDOM IN NHRA COMPETITION, HE WENT ON TO ESTABLISH HIMSELF IN SCCA, FORMULA, AND INDY CAR COMPETITION. TO THIS DAY, HE IS THE ONLY DRIVER IN HISTORY TO HAVE ACHIEVED PROFESSIONAL LEVEL VICTORIES IS DRAG RACING, OVAL TRACK RACING, AND ROAD RACING. HE IS RANKED 39 ON NHRA'S TOP FIFTY DRIVER'S OF THE LAST FIFTY YEARS.

THE TWO MEN PAIRED UP IN 1968 AT BONNEVILLE, WHERE THEY BROKE 295 NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SPEED AND ENDURANCE RECORDS IN A PAIR OF MACH I MUSTANGS. WHEN MICKEY MADE HIS TRANSITION TO NHRA FUNNY CAR IN 1969, HE RETAINED THE WINNING COMBINATION OF ONGAIS IN A MACH I MUSTANG.

DANNY PILOTED ONE OF A MATCHED PAIR OF BOSS 429 MACH I MUSTANGS, POWERED BY FORD'S SOHC HEMI ENGINE. THOMPSON AND ONGAIS WERE UNBEATABLE THAT YEAR. VICTORIES AT THE BAKERSFIELD MARCH MEET, THE MANUFACTURER'S MEET, SPRING NATIONALS, U.S. NATIONALS, AS WELL AS ALMOST EVERY MATCH RACE PROPELLED THEM TO A "DREAM SEASON", ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL IN DRAG RACING HISTORY.

THE TEAM TRANSPORTED THE MACH I ON THIS 1969 FORD F350, CUSTOM BUILT TO BE A SERVICE TRUCK AS WELL AS A HAULER. THEY EVEN INSTALLED A DEEP WELL COMPARTMENT IN THE CENTER OF THE BED, SO THEY COULD SERVICE THE CAR FROM UNDERNEATH WHEN IT WAS ON THE BED. 390 CU. IN. ENGINE, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.

WE HAVE THE TRUCK- WE HAVE THE STORY- WE HAVE THE PROOF. NOW WE JUST HAVE TO RESURRECT THIS PIECE OF AMERICAN RACING HISTORY TO THE CONDITION IT WAS IN 1969.

PLEASE FOLLOW ALONG FOR UPDATES ON OUR PROGRESS. CALL RANDY AT 847 526 5950 FOR DETAILS.
